If there’s anyone who truly knows bold and outrageous home decor it has got to be Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and this is exactly what he will be showcasing in his new primetime Channel 4 television series, Outrageous Homes.
Forget trends because these homeowners decorate to their heart’s desire, and in Outrageous Homes with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, the interior designer will be celebrating what it means to be different. Showcasing homes with eccentric and visionary looks, the series will provide viewers with inspiration to step out of their comfort zones in everything from colour to patterns and furniture choices.
There is no such thing as bad design, says Laurence, so the television personality will be meeting people across the country who really do value originality and have decorated their homes without any fear.
‘Huzzah! At last, a property show that turns its back on Delusions of Blandeur and instead celebrates homes that take OTT to another level of FABULOUS. In fact, we’ll be filming in spaces of such OUTRAGEOUSNESS I’ll be the most understated thing on screen which is, let’s face it, an extraordinary achievement…,’ Laurence comments.
Changing Rooms star Laurence will be discovering why the homeowners dared to be different with their designs, exactly how they did it, as well as how much it all cost. He will also be meeting with the designers, decorators and architects who helped to bring these creative and vivid visions to life.
Deborah Dunnett, commissioning editor at Channel 4, says Laurence’s new show ‘is an altogether different property series’, adding: ‘As the epitome of extravagance and eccentricity, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is the perfect person to host it. Who wants uniformity anyway?’
